The Youth Skills Studio (YSS), located in Beamsville, is a partnership between Civiconnect and the Town of Lincoln designed to provide youth with the skills and experience they need to make valuable contributions to the workplace and beyond. The YSS work integrated learning environment provides paid employment to youth aged 15-29 to work on technology-based projects for local businesses.

Our experienced Tech Team facilitates high-demand technical skills development while youth deliver digital technology solutions to businesses. At regular intervals each week, our Programming Team delivers training focused on teamwork, communication and work ethic to develop the most important non-technical skills identified by employers. The results are that: youth gain the skills and experience needed in the workplace, businesses gain affordable access to innovative, high-impact digital technology services, businesses gain risk-free access to emerging young talent and youth gain the benefits of a work-integrated learning experience at an organization designed for this purpose.

Civiconnect is a non-profit organization, which is one of the reasons we are able to offer our services at such an affordable cost.

As a non-profit, it is our duty to provide a collective social benefit. One of the ways we do this is through our youth skills studio, a program designed to help youth aged 15-29 gain meaningful skills and experience that they need to thrive in the workforce.

A legal entity organized and operated for a collective, public or social benefit, in contrast with an entity that operates as a business aiming to generate a profit for its owners.

In the youth skills studio, we provide our trainees with the technical and soft skills needed to succeed in their professional careers. Our work environment is fun and friendly, yet challenging.

As a result, the work that our trainees put out is always high-quality and on time.

The future is (You)th - help us help youth while we help you!

Being a non-profit organization, we are striving to offer beneficial services and affordable prices for the digital platform of your business. Through our Youth Advisory Committee’s research, we have found that students face difficulties of finding meaningful employment in their field or lack work experience.

At Civiconnect, we are working to prepare youth to be effective members of the workforce and community, through work integrated learning. Civiconnect offers valuable learning experiences for youth while ensuring your digital service requirements are met.

Most Canadian education providers believe that youth are prepared for the workforce, but few employers and less than half of youth agree
