Workplace Readiness Camp
Prepare for success in the professional world with our Workplace Readiness Skills Camp! Gain essential soft and hard skills, including a 2-day Standard First Aid and CPR-C course in partnership with The Canadian Red Cross. Enhance your resume with workplace-ready certificates from OSG, accessible for completion at your own pace. March Break Graphic Design
Get ready to unleash your creativity and dive into the exciting realm of graphic design with our exciting new camp! What is ConnectCamps?
ConnectCamps is a fun and exciting way for kids between the ages of 12 to 15 to learn about in-demand, technical careers, while also gaining the confidence and adaptability needed when entering the workforce. We prioritize a supportive and welcoming environment that allows participants to plant the seeds of personal and professional growth. Taught by industry experts who are passionate about helping the next generation of professionals develop skills and thrive in their future careers.

Safety Info
Our staff are certified in First Aid training and are required to have an updated police background check in vulnerable sectors. Our camps abide by laws and regulations set out by the province of Ontario and we pride ourselves in the extra safety precautions that are taken.
FAQ
What should youth bring to ConnectCamps?
- Snacks (there are break periods when participants enjoy a small snack). We are a nut-free facility, and parents are asked to pack nut-free lunches and snacks.
- Refillable water bottle
- Pencil case containing basic school supplies (pencils, pens, erasers, markers, etc)
- Closed toed shoes and heel shoes must be worn to comply with camp safety rules (preferably running shoes)
- Any doctor-prescribed medications (ConnectCamps staff will not administer medications except in the case of life-threatening situation such as adminitstering an EpiPen which is provided by the parent)
What is the participant to staff ratio?

How many participants are attending?
Our Game Design Camp will have a total of 15 participants.
Do you offer extended care?
Yes. We offer extended care for our March Break and Summer Camps.
Will participants need to bring a device to the program?
No, participants will not need to (and we request that they do not) bring any devices to the program. A laptop will be provided to participants at all locations for use during the program.
What is the process for sign-in and sign-out?
To ensure safety, all participants must be signed in and out at the time of drop off and pick up. Participants can be signed in and out by a guardian, an authorized person as stated on their registration form, or by the participant if stated on the registration form. Please make sure to arrange your preferred method of check-in and check-out on the first day with program staff.
How can this program provide an inclusive space for youth with exceptionalities?
We pride ourselves on creating an inclusive space where all participants feel safe and welcome. However, we are unable to provide additional services to youth with diagnosed or identified significant behavioural support needs and requires 1:1 support. Civiconnect reserves the right to request that a parent provide a certified support worker for their youth for the duration of camp. Safety of all our participants and staff is of the upmost importance.
How can this program accommodate participants with dietary restrictions and food allergies?
Please let staff know of any dietary restrictions or food allergies upon registration. Participants will be asked to pack their own snacks/lunch every day and thus can control what they have. Occasionally, snacks will be served throughout the day and the staff will take all precautions necessary to ensure people’s safety. Please note, this is a nut-free environment!
Do ConnectCamps staff administer medication?
There is at least one staff member at every site that has their First Aid and CPR certification, however, program facilitators DO NOT administer medications (unless it is an emergency such as the use of an EpiPen). If any participant needs medication throughout the day, please arrange for a parent or a designated person to come and do so. Also, please ensure this information is communicated clearly on the registration form when enrolling a participant.
Do you have any subsidies for low-income families or single parents?
As a not-for-profit, ConnectCamps does not have a formal subsidy program. We suggest parents contact their local service clubs and agencies about existing program subsidy programs.
